Woodside poised to start FEED on Browse project

Woodside Petroleum is preparing to begin design work on its massive $30 billion Browse liquefied natural gas project off the coast of Western Australia by the end of the year, saying it is in agreement with its joint-venture partners including Shell and BP.

The Sydney Morning Herald is reporting Woodside, which has been stuck in lengthy negotiations with its partners on the project, said on Thursday it was expecting a final investment decision to be reached in the first half of 2021 after previously expecting approval by late 2020.

“We are progressing the negotiation for the Browse gas processing agreement,” Woodside chief Peter Coleman said. “The Browse joint venture remains aligned on being ready to commence front-end engineering design in the fourth quarter of 2019.”
