March 5 (Brisbane): Women in Manufacturing series recognises the role of women in the future of Queensland manufacturing.
The manufacturing sector is vital to growing and diversifying Queensland’s economy and creating the jobs of the future. Attracting highly skilled women into the sector will be increasingly important to its success. Gender diversity in the workforce drives innovation and idea generation. The Qld Government and Ai Group is running, for a second year, Women in Manufacturing celebrations, which will facilitate discussion around Queensland manufacturers’ ability to innovate and the importance for women to become a part of the new highly skilled occupations that are required for the future, and how to encourage and support new entrants into this evolving sector.
