Twin solar farm plans brighten WA’s outlook

A second major solar farm in Western Australia’s South West is up for approval, with the $200 million farm hoped to power about 35,000 homes, create about 250 jobs during construction – and help WA catch up to other states embracing solar.

WA Today is reporting a fortnight after Melbourne-based South Energy’s $250 million, 183-megawatt solar farm proposal was approved for Waroona, the company’s proposal for another site 40 kilometres away in the Shire of Harvey, the 100-megawatt Benger Solar Farm, is up for consideration at the local joint development assessment panel.
