Hastings Deering strike gold with new apprentice intake

Queensland – a record 48 new apprentices today started their training at mining and construction giant Hastings Deering.

Hastings had received over 1000 applications in the first 24 hrs of posting the vacancies and more than 1800 by the time applications closed.

The intake from Cairns, Mount Isa, Townsville, Mackay, Toowoomba, Brisbane, Northern Territory and PNG  includes indigenous trainees and applicants from a range of age groups who will be employed as fitters, electricians and  boilermakers.
