Gateway Mining is edging closer to reviving a long-forgotten mining hub in the northern Goldfields in Western Australia after announcing a maiden resource estimate at its Gidgee gold project near Wiluna.
The West Australian is reporting the junior explorer has revealed an inferred resource of 3.4 million tonnes at 2.2g per tonne for 240,000 ounces of gold.
It marks a promising moment for the company and there is potential for the resource to grow, with both deposits open in all directions.
Gateway has wasted no time in its bid to add more ounces to the project by announcing an immediate start to a 16,000m air drilling program.
