Frequency of Chinese import restrictions a concern

Australia’s coal miners are becoming concerned about the increasing frequency of restrictions on imports into China following recent moves to bar some shipments of Australia’s most valuable export.

The Australian is reporting that while local coal producers appear so far to have emerged largely unscathed from China’s latest attempts to restrict imports into the key port of Dalian, the move has added to concerns for investors while also raising the prospect of a possible violation of the free trade agreement between Australia and China.
