THE project that paved the way for the energy industry in Darwin is gearing up for another 20 years of operation and with it comes forecasts of between 500 to 600 jobs.
The NT News is reporting ConocoPhillips’ is briefing local businesses on new works, running into the hundreds of millions of dollars, that will be undertaken at Darwin LNG in the not too distant future.
The Darwin Harbour project currently has a residential workforce policy, providing employment for about 350 local residents.
Darwin LNG is a crown jewel in the ConocoPhillips portfolio.
ConocoPhillips is the majority interest holder and operator of the Bayu-Undan gas field facility, the pipeline and the Darwin LNG plant.
