New contract for services has been issued at the Century zinc operation in Queensland.
Century Mining Limited – a subsidiary of New Century Resources – awarded the five-year Operations and Maintenance contract (valued at $110 million) to Sedgman – CIMIC Group member.
The O&M is for the company’s Lawn Hill processing plant, concentrate pipeline and Karumba Port facility at the mine.
The Century Mine site is located 250 km northwest of Mount Isa, Queensland.
Sedgman has already commenced EPC works on the project as well as provided services for operational readiness requirements.
Last year, the company provided the feasibility study for the mine’s restart including all facilities at the site.
Early works commenced in December of last year and the project is on track to begin restart production by the third quarter of 2018.
